International Women’s Day: Nitika Chopra

What female achievement inspires you?

Any woman who stares struggle and adversity in the face and rises up to the beauty of who they are, anyway. She is my hero. It’s so hard just to own who we are, to love ourselves and to believe in our truth in today’s world. Women who do that are achieving one of the hardest things in life.

Why are you proud to be a woman today?

I am proud to be a woman today because I feel like the desire I have always had, to speak up and share my voice, is finally being celebrated. We are losing our attachment to perfection and embracing a more messy truth. That is incredibly inspiring and allows for much more beauty to come forward.

Who/what inspires you?

SO many women out there inspire me on the daily. But right now I am most inspired by my sisters who are members in the Resistance Revival Chorus with me. The chorus was created by the founders of The Women’s March and is using JOY as an act of resistance. There is literally nothing more inspiring than this group – it’s breathtaking.
