A Note from Kate: My Favorite Quotes

I love finding quotes and holding on to them so I’m able to go back and enjoy the meaning in a particular moment.  There’s just a lot of comfort in being moved or inspired or encouraged by someone else’s thoughts as a reminder of something I really need to hear. Below are a few of my favorites – thoughts I find myself coming back to a lot when I need a little extra reinforcement!

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” – Albert Einstein

This can be a hard concept to grasp but there really is so much truth to it. Sometimes it means just taking a moment to breathe and process what’s going on around me so I’m able to see where I can do some good.

“Don’t try to steer the river.”  – Deepak Chopra

I love listening to Deepak Chopra’s audiobooks when I’m trying to fall asleep. His voice is so calm and soothing and I love the messages behind his words, no matter how simple. This one is a great reminder to just be and let things run their course.

“If we can just let go and trust that things will work out the way they’re supposed to, without trying to control the outcome, then we can begin to enjoy the moment more fully. The joy of the freedom it brings becomes more pleasurable than the experience itself.”
-Goldie Hawn

This quote is from my mom’s book “10 Mindful Minutes” and I love it way beyond the obvious reasons. When we get so wrapped up and stressed by the “what if’s” of a situation, it’s such a great reminder to really just let go and live in the moment and enjoy the process.
