Isn’t it funny how your favorite songs just stick with you? I distinctly remember showing up for my 5th grade talent show, at which point I realized I was the only person bold (or stupid?) enough to have planned a solo performance. But I had JANET by my side! I took the stage and rocked out to Janet Jackson’s “Rhythm Nation.” I think that mentality has stuck with me until now, even as an adult – the boldness to just go for it in all aspects of my life.
I also remember dancing to “That Girl is Poison,” which was such a blast, but now the mom in me realizes I probably was too young at the time to be dancing so sensually! These days, my playlist is filled with Beyoncé. I love her new album, especially “XO” and “Rocket.” When I hear those songs, I can’t help but dance all over the place, no matter where I am or who I’m with. Here’s my challenge: stock your iTunes library with songs that make you feel great – they bring back memories, pump up your pace, or just make you smile. Whether you’re dancing, walking or running, find the soundtrack that moves you.
