Who is tired of your arm still “waving” when you have already finished ‘waving?’ Yes, I thought so! One of the main questions I hear is “How do I get rid of this?” as a woman is shaking her arm in my face to make her tricep “jiggle.” Well, ladies, jiggle no more! It’s summer time and we all want to look fit and strong in our sleeveless tops. If you follow these three moves, the only thing waving will be your hand as you wave goodbye to that “arm jiggle.”
1. CURL TO SHOULDER PRESS: With an added movement to the basic bicep curl, this takes up your burn one more notch and hits another muscle area – your shoulders. Begin with your elbows to your sides and while holding dumbbells in each hand, curl up. Once the curl is complete, press overhead into a shoulder press. Do three sets of 12 repetitions.
2. PUSH UPS. People have a love-hate relationship with this move, but it is one of the best – if not the best – bodyweight exercises. If you have not mastered the regular push up with both of your feet on the ground, modify the push up by supporting yourself with your knees. Aim for three sets of 12 repetitions.
3. TRICEP DIPS: Another bodyweight exercise to feel the burn in those arms! Grab a chair or bench and place both hands on the chair. Extend your legs away from the chair and dip your body down. Aim to drop to a 90 degree angle. Once you are at that position, push yourself back up to the starting position. For a modified version, bend your knees. Try to complete three sets of 12 repetitions.
