The Easiest Low-Cal Margarita Recipes

It’s Cinco de Mayo weekend, and who doesn’t want to indulge in endless guac and margaritas? While the thought of sabotaging your healthy-eating streak is enough to make you want to decline fiesta invites, don’t, because you can enjoy a weekend of food, friends and margaritas. You just have to promise to steer clear of 400+ calorie margaritas, and instead, make your own refreshing, under 150 calorie concoctions. Whether you enjoy them frozen, on the rocks or with fresh fruit, here are two recipes to inspire a healthy weekend of sipping.

On the Rocks
1-2 ounces of tequila
juice of 1 fresh lime
1/2 ounce Cointreau
1/2 cup of ice
Fill cocktail shaker with ice, add all ingredients, and shake well. Strain into glass filled with ice and drink up!

1/2 cup of water
2 oz. of tequila
6 sliced strawberries
Juice of 1 fresh lime
½ tablespoon of your favorite natural sweetener
2 cups of ice
Add everything to a blender, process until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a glass, garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy.
