The Hiking Essentials You’ll Need This Summer


In addition to water, you’ll need some fuel while you spend the day exploring. Healthy, packable snacks are a great option for both short and long hikes. Skip the prepackaged and overly-processed food and stick with what you love – I love delicious nut butters with celery sticks, sliced fruits and veggies, or a quick and easy quinoa salad! On longer hikes that require a lunch break, I’ll opt for tuna, a whole wheat pita, and a cucumber and tomato salad in my backpack.

    Can the food/recipe master please provide the recipe for the strawberry ice cream (photo)?  It looks really great and healthy 🙂
