There is really nothing like a great girlfriend – who better to turn to when you’re feeling low or dealing with a crisis? In a way that no one else can, she offers an ear to listen and understand it all. What I love about girlfriends is that they are there for you in good times and bad.
While the best of friends can pick things up wherever they left off, my key group of friends likes to get together about once a week. We meet to chat over tea or breakfast, or sometimes we do an early dinner while our kids are at sports practice.
Girlfriends Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the closest ladies in your life and to do something fun together that goes beyond your normal hangout. Some of the special things that I have done with my friends include a pot luck where everyone brings a different dish to enjoy, and a beach day where we all relax and enjoy the sunshine while our kids are off doing their own thing.
Whether you’re in the car together laughing together, or at a lunch or dinner celebrating a birthday, your girlfriends are the ones you can count on. As the years pass, we realize more and more how important these friendships are.
