Craving: Something Fruity and Sweet
Many of us will often grab a bag of gummy bears or Swedish fish when we’re stressed out because there’s something very satisfying about chewing something that’s well…chewy. But instead of simply eating candy, turn that craving into something healthy.
Have: Chia Pudding with Dried Cherries
Combine 3 tablespoons chia seeds with 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (you can also use coconut milk); stir with a whisk and let stand for 30 to 40 minutes. Stir again. Combine with 2 tablespoons chopped, tart dried cherries and either chill or enjoy immediately. Add a little honey or agave nectar if you’re on the hunt for something sweeter. Calories: 240
Bonus: Tart cherries may help athletes recover faster from a tough workout. A recent study showed that cyclists who drank Montmorency tart cherry juice concentrate before a race experienced less inflammation and oxidative stress compared to those who drank another beverage.
