Being fearless can be a very intimidating concept. The word can summon a lot of different ideas for different people including the common interpretation of living an outrageous and adventurous life without hesitation. To me, being fearless is simply recognizing what your fears are and facing them head on.
One of the first steps of facing fears is acknowledging them. The next step is actively deciding to change whatever in your life is motivating your fears. This can be very challenging; it most definitely is for me. But you are the only person who can push yourself forward to truly face your fears. Once you dedicate yourself, power through and get to the other side, you’ll realize you’ve built stronger character in yourself and can apply this perseverance to other areas of your life.
There’s a quote about fear that I especially like: “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is the fear of the unknown.“ The fear of the unknown is legitimate; it’s something we all face every day. For me, the best way to deal with it is by being present and living in the moment as often as I can.
