I like to keep things simple when I prepare my food. I prefer fresh and organic ingredients that won’t keep me in the kitchen for hours. Speaking of fresh, strawberry season is upon us. I love eating fresh strawberries as a quick snack on-the-go as well as adding strawberries to any salad. Here are some quick and simple recipes for adding these immunity-boosting, antioxidant -packed berries to your diet.
Strawberry Infused Water
1 quart of spring or filtered water
½ cup sliced and hulled strawberries
2-4 mint leaves
Put all ingredients in a glass jar and store in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
Tear or scratch the mint leaves to release the flavor. Serve on ice and garnish with a strawberry.
Power Packed Strawberry Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp. flaxseed meal
2-4 tbsp. raw honey (optional)
Put all ingredients in the blender. Blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy.
