Coming Soon: The FL2 by Will Claye Capsule Collection

by

We’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with Olympic athlete Will Claye. A two-time track and field medalist with a passion for design, Will perfectly embodies the FL2 brand.

Since his 2012 debut at the Summer Games in London, Will made history and headlines as the first American since 1904 to earn medals in both the triple jump and long jump. This year, he’ll compete in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Off the field, Will has partnered with FL2 to launch his capsule collection in July – our brand’s first-ever collaboration with a professional athlete. The seven-piece collection takes inspiration from the upcoming games – including our featured “Globe” print – and is heavily influenced by Will’s own personal style. “FL2 was the perfect fit for a collaboration,” says the athlete, “because they have stylish clothes that don’t sacrifice on technical elements.”

And Will doesn’t take his “co-designer” title lightly: He’s involved with every aspect of design, from the fabrication to the fit. The result? An urban-cool line of gym-to-life performance gear with an emphasis on cutting-edge details. Think ventilated separates, training jackets with zip-off sleeves, and convertible pants for warmups, cool-downs and everything in between.

Shaun Kearney, our VP of Design, says of working with Will, “We admire his perseverance, grit and fashion sense, as well as his tendency to take risks – in his training and style. We are looking forward to watching Will compete this summer, as he continues to inspire the next generation, on and off the field.”

Will shares this sentiment: “When I compete, I am pushing myself physically, but I also want to show the world who I am. I’m really excited to share my capsule collection before I compete in the Summer Olympics in Rio this year.” Will has the potential to make history at the Summer Games this year, where he hopes to win a gold medal in both the triple jump and long jump.

There’s much more Will coming your way here at the Core, with upcoming posts on his workouts, recovery tips, music playlists, and lifestyle. Stay tuned!
