The Holiday Evening Wind Down: Ginger’s Top 3 Tips

The holidays can be so crazy, right? Between running from one holiday party to another and still trying to fit in workouts to contrast all the eating you’re doing, it can be tough to find the time to still take care of yourself when the evening comes around. Here are a few tips to wind down after the hustle and bustle of the season.

Make A Gratitude List

It’s nice to take a moment and really think about what you’re thankful for, especially when the gifts are rolling in during this time of year. Take a few minutes to write a list of the people and things that have made you feel happy, grateful and centered over the past month (and year!), and how you can let them know they brought joy to your 2017.

Stretch It Out

A long day can definitely take a toll on your body. Doing a quick stretch can help you not only decompress and ease the tension on your muscles (which is especially great after an intense workout), but it can also ease your mind and help you get ready for bed!

Add Some Moisture

Winter dries out your skin. It just does. And if you’re running or doing other workouts outside during these more frigid temps, your skin will feel it later. Find a moisturizer or body cream that you love and slather them on before you get into bed to help bring your skin back to life—one with a lavender scent will help relax you, too!

Bath Time Is The Best Time

When you’re running around all day, it’s important to just take a little time for yourself, too. A bubble bath with essential oils is just the thing to make you de-stress! Don’t forget to light some candles and turn on some relaxing tunes to really help you unwind.
