The Mile High Skincare Club

Flying can be stressful on you—and on your skin. And especially with the holiday season upon us, lots of us will be jetting near and far to see our friends and family. Luckily, it’s pretty easy to keep skin happy and glowing en route to your destination. Molly Larsen the creator of All About Good Vibes is here with two skin routines you can do while on airplane mode.

Having a good inflight skincare routine is difficult for a lot of people, including myself and especially for those who take long-haul flights. But it’s important to give your skin some TLC, because the low humidity, higher altitude and less blood flow to your skin can cause some undesirable results, like dryness, dullness and puffiness.

Personally, I just want to get to my destination and get as comfy as possible, so I used to neglect my skin while flying. But times have changed—now I have a routine that I always do to keep my skin healthy and fresh during and before I land. Today I’m sharing my two skincare routines: the “Lazy Sunday” and the“You Glow Girl.” Both routines will help keep your skin hydrated and not stressed during your travel.

Lazy Sunday

You will need:

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Facial Cleansing Cloths
  • Facial Mist
  • Lip balm
  • Overnight Mask

Step One: Cleanse

This cleansing step includes the two most important steps: hand sanitizing and face cleansing. Start by cleaning your hands with the sanitizer, then clean your face with the cloth.

Step Two: Hydrate

Hydrate your face with a face mist or essence spray, hydrate your lips with lip balm and hydrate your whole body by drinking plenty of water.

Step Three: Lock in Hydration

I recommend using an overnight mask—the kind that doesn’t require washing off—and treat it as your intense moisturizer. Apply a thick layer all over your face and neck and leave it on for the whole flight. Three steps for soft, smooth and healthy skin!

You Glow Girl

You will need the three Lazy Sunday steps, plus quite a few products:

  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Facial Cleansing Cloths
  • Facial Mist
  • Lip balm
  • Face oil
  • Face serum
  • Eye cream
  • Face moisturizer
  • Overnight Mask
  • Sunscreen

Step one: Clean

Clean your hands with hand sanitizer spray or wipe then clean your face with the facial cleansing cloth.

Step two: Hydrate

Start this step by hydrating your face with a face mist or essence spray, like the Lazy Sunday routine. To make sure your skin will glow after the flight, you will have to take your hydration to the next level. I personally like to use face oils, so after I spray my face with essence, I apply my favorite face oil, followed by face serum, eye cream and face moisturizer. Then I hydrate my lips with lip balm and drink plenty of water.

Step Three: Lock in Hydration

After applying all of the products from Step Two, apply a thick layer of an overnight mask and leave on for the whole flight. Before I leave the plane, I apply a good amount of sunscreen on as well.

P.S. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water which will give you the best results to both you and your skin.
